Malacca Zoo


Malacca Zoo is located next to Historic Square, Ayer. Here there are more than 214 species of animals can be found in Southeast Asia and Africa, naturally.
The zoo is crowned as the best zoo in the country of Malaysia. Zoo developed on the site of 22 ha in Ayer Keroh, in 1963. Zoo initially administered by the Malacca State Government but zoo management was taken over by the Wildlife and National Parks (Wildlife and National Parks) in 1979.
Zoo has grown and is now the second largest zoo in Malaysia behind Zoo Negara. Currently, the collection of animals at the zoo of 1,200 specimens of animals 215spesis birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. The main attraction is the zoo, Sumatran rhinoceros, tiger, gaur, deer and elk. Visitor numbers are about 400,000 people a year. The best time to visit is in the morning when the animals are active wait time to eat. After feeding, the animals will spend time resting or sleeping.
Zoo, night safari organizes every Friday, Saturday and Sunday to allow visitors to see the habits and behavior of animals during the night between the hours of 8:00 to 11:30 pm
